ACE (Accessing Community Experiences)

 

Participants in the ACE program spend each day working and learning new skills in the community. The ACE experience provides opportunities to integrate with non-disabled peers and learn functional skills in a natural environment.

With a job coach, ACE team members work at local businesses.  Each ACE team consists of a Marin Ventures Instructor and four clients.  The working portion of the day lasts approximately an hour, and groups are scheduled for up to four days each week. 

  

 

 

The Community Experience

ACE clients like James enjoy bowling once a week.Paulina participates in a protest against budget cuts.With guidance from their Instructors, ACE team members take part in choosing experiences that achieve a balance of education and entertainment.

Marin Ventures offers a variety of classes for those in the ACE program such as creative arts, money management, and cooking.  Visits to libraries, parks, and museums are part of the cultural and recreational integration.Alice concentrates on her weaving project with Allison.
